Imagine also accepts queries for feature articles. Please do not send completed articles. We prefer to work closely with writers from the beginning to avoid unnecessary rewrites. We publish first-person narratives of valuable, enriching experiences, including academic summer programs and competitions, volunteer work, internships, and extracurriculars. Feature articles range from 800 to 1,200 words. Our issues for the 2009-2010 volume year will focus on: - Environmental Science [closed for submissions]
- Writing [closed for submissions]
- The Art & Science of Games [closed for submissions]
- Philosophy
- Engineering
We are interested in queries related to these topics but also welcome queries on unrelated topics, as we publish at least two non-focus-topic articles in each issue. A few tips: - Submissions and queries should come from the students interested in publishing their work. We appreciate the interest of parents and educators in publishing their students’ writing; however, we want to hear from students themselves. We want to read work that the student believes in and believes is worthy of publication.
- Imagine is a unique magazine, so make sure you read at least one issue before submitting your writing to us. If you are not familiar with Imagine, please order a back issue or read a digital issue to make sure your submission is appropriate.
