| Home > imagine > Creative Minds Contest We invite entries for Imagine’s third annual Creative Minds Essay Contest. There is no theme for this contest--just send us your best nonfiction essay! The first-place winner will be published in the Jan/Feb 2010 issue of Imagine. Second- and third-place winners will be published online. All winners receive copies of the issue in which their work appears and surprise Imagine gear. Winners will be announced in the Jan/Feb issue of Imagine and on the Imagine website when that issue is released. Contest Guidelines: - Entrants must be 18 or under at time of submission.
- Deadline extended: Monday, November 23 at 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
- Each entrant may submit only one essay.
- There is no theme or topic for this contest. Essays can be any work of nonfiction including, but not limited to, memoirs, personal essays, argumentative essays, and lyric essays. We cannot accept book reports or critical works.
- Essays must be entrant’s original work. No essays previously published either in print or online will be considered. Essays must not have previously won any other writing contest.
- Essay must not exceed 1,000 words.
- Save the essay with your last name as the file name [Example: If your name is Albert Einstein, save your photograph as “einstein.doc”]. Do not include any identifying information, such as your name, age, or any identification numbers, on the document.
