CTYOnline: Distance Education & the Mac

We are happy to say that most of our courses will run on MacOS (or even Linux in many cases). Unfortunately, a few of our courses are designed for MS Windows:

  • C and Java Programming
  • some foreign languages
  • Honors Biology & Chemistry (possible to run on the Mac, but difficult)

A Mac can also run these courses, but the process may get very technical. You will need to be fairly good at working with both MacOS and Windows. This is not recommended for computer novices.

Running Windows on a Mac

There are two major ways for Intel-based Macs to run Windows software:

Note: You will need a Windows installer disc. At least 2GB of RAM is recommended.

Troubleshooting

CTY will offer Mac help to the best of our ability for enrolled students, including software setup and general Mac maintenance.
