Pedro A. Lamothe is from Mexico City. He became a CTY Instructor in 2008. Pedro identifies with CTY students in many aspects. He entered college at the age of 12 and graduated from electronic systems engineering at 17. He entered medical school at the age of 19 and graduated at 24. He is currently in the Biotechnology graduate program at Johns Hopkins University. He believes that teaching is a very important part of being a scientist and that the most important thing about science isn't being able to solve problems (this comes with time and practice). The most important thing is to understand the concepts of the scientific explanation about real life phenomena. Pedro was an instructor for four years in Mexico. He also did clinical research which led to 24 scientific journal publications, 2 chapters in textbooks, and 45 congress presentations in 6 countries. Since 2006, his main hobby is training for triathlons. |
