Jennifer Swanson

Jennifer Swanson lives in Jacksonville, Florida, with her husband and three children.  She graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy with a B.S. in Chemistry and spent five years on active duty in the Navy. During that time, Jennifer taught chemistry at the Naval Academy Preparatory School and worked in the command center of the Navy’s Atlantic Fleet.  Upon her resignation from the Navy, she has taught classes from pre-school through eighth grade.  Jennifer joined the CTY family in January 2009 and her goal is pass on her life-long love of science and learning to her students.  In her spare time, Jennifer is a children’s author.  Her first book, Penny and Rio: The Mysterious Backyard Meeting received a 2009 Mom’s Choice Silver Award for juvenile fiction-early reader.
