Tong Wu Sun joined CTY as an instructor of Chinese in the fall of 2007. She has been an adjunct faculty of York College of Pennsylvania and a part time Chinese Instructor at Penn State York since 2003. She was born and grew up in Beijing, China and received her BA in both English and Chinese from Beijing Foreign Languages Institute. She earned her MA in English language and literature from Clarion University of Pennsylvania. She taught Chinese for years before coming to the United States to continue her graduate studies. She is also a Registered Pennsylvania Courts Interpreter and does volunteer work with various schools and agencies. In addition, she is the translator and co-editor of Contemporary Chinese Thought, published by M.E. Sharpe in 2004.
