Grades 2 - 6 Qualifying verbal score and successful completion of Chinese for Elementary Students, Part Il or equivalent
Chinese for Elementary Students, Intermediate level, Part I is for young students who want to hone their Chinese speaking and listening skills, as well as continue increasing their reading and writing abilities and grammar skills. Students become familiar with Chinese characters and vocabulary so that pinyin is gradually omitted in the textbook during intermediate level classes. Conversation topics based on daily life include the student's shopping, birthday, daily routine, and clothes. The course keeps a fun and interactive approach with course materials, thus encouraging young students' positive attitudes towards language learning. The Chinese culture related to the topic is integrated into each lesson and reading materials. The main focus is on recognizing main characters without pinyin.
The tentative schedule for conversation practice sessions is:
Monday and Wednesday, from 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm (EST) This schedule may be adjusted in the future. 12 weeks
