Benefits

Meeting the unique needs of talented learners ...

As a core benefit of the Talent Search, identification is as important today as it was in 1979 when CTY established itself as a world leader in gifted education.

Enroll your child in the Talent Search today and let CTY:

  • Reveal or reaffirm academic abilities
You may know your child is advanced academically, but you may not know the extent of this ability. CTY Talent Search testing provides a common currency, with concrete results to show a student's level of knowledge beyond what's expected by current grade level.

  • Provide statistical data about Talent Search participants’ test scores by grade
CTY provides the statistical data that allows you to understand your child’s test scores compared to the national landscape of their true academic peers.

  • Recognize your child for academic talent
CTY knows bright students thrive on praise and recognition, yet far less public recognition is given for academic talent than for sports, music, or other abilities. All students who accept the challenge of taking the Talent Search test receive a Certificate of Participation, with the chance to also be honored for both state and national achievement through CTY's Award Ceremonies.  Award Ceremonies will be hosted in fall 2010.

  • Provide access to CTY’s rewarding Family Academic Programs
CTY’s Family Academic Programs are open to all students who participate in the Talent Search. Programs are offered to students enrolled in grades 2-12. These events do not have score qualifications, and all Talent Search students are encouraged to attend. Depending on age, Talent Search participants may also take part in our Civic Leadership Institute.

  • Give your child a chance to qualify for CTY's Summer and CTYOnline Programs
CTY’s academic programs have been developed to meet the unique needs of our nation’s brightest students. They offer a wide array of topics often not covered in school prior to college, as well as many accelerated courses. CTY academic programs include both summer residential programs and distance education courses, and are accredited by the CSS MSA.

In addition, your child's affiliation with a top-notch academic institution through Talent Search identification provides benefits now, and in the important decision-making ahead when you begin the college applications process.

CTY will also contact students periodically (several times a year) via email with information of interest to gifted students and their families. We also will keep our Talent Search students up to date with new developments—they will be some of the first to know about new and exciting developments such as new CTY Summer Programs sites.
